PUBLIC SCREENING OF “WOMEN TRAFFICKING” DOCUMENTARY A documentary “Women Trafficking”(2006.) was screened at UNESCO on March 13th, 2007 as part of the week-long celebrations for the occasion of International Women’s Day.
The film was praised as “an excellent example of sensitization” and the crucial role media plays in raising awareness of governments and sensitizing the public about human rights violations was underscored.
The screening was followed by a discussion about challenges for participating TV stations and ERNO in research and production, since it is an exceptionally delicate subject which requires understanding and involves human rights violation, forced prostitution, illegal migration and organized crime.
After it was shown on some of the TV stations, the preview od documentary was also made avialable online at UNESCO's portal and ERNO web site and more than 800 DVDs distributed to the media and international organization representatives worldwide. It received many positive reviews and different organizations worldwide have asked permission to screen it for educational purposes.
