Documentary cooperation

Documentaries exchange cooperation

With the support of UNESCO’s International Programme for the Development of Communication (IPDC) a two day workshop was held in Split, Croatia, on June 3-6, 2009 gathering 16 participants, documentary program producers and editors to discuss the possible ways of cooperation in the exchange of programs and co-productions. The meeting provided an opportunity for the first exchange of documentaries between ERNO member stations. The topics of selected documentaries exchanged are rather diverse and include topics like culture, history, ecology, social and even current affairs related. The procedure was that all participating stations had to provide 11 copies of the selected film on the format requested by others in original language, without subtitles, but with the following scripts i.e. dialogue list in English and original language for others. Together with the tape, all have sent signed declaration in which they give the copy rights to other TV stations.

As the exchange has proved successful, the “second round” of film exchanges will be conducted on the website specially designed for documentary cooperation that presents the final step in formalization of the new network of documentary producers from public broadcasters in SEE countries. A part of website www.erno.tv  “Documentary exchange” contains the list of all offered documentaries, info on documentary network members, trailers, forum, photo gallery and many other useful features.
