Finalization of the project Cultural heritage preservation in the SEE funded by the European Commission

ERNO EC project including the training and co-production on the preservation of the cultural heritage in the South East Europe of the ERNO member countries in the SEE has been successfully finalized in March 2010 with the final documentary “CULTURAL HERITAGE IN THE SOUTHEAST EUROPE” comprised of 4 episodes: PRESERVATION, COMMUNICATION, TOURISM, and DAILY LIFE. The documentary “Cultural Heritage in the Southeast Europe” is the result of the unique co-production involving 11 ERNO member PSBs and Turkish Radio Television - TRT focusing on the different aspects of culture heritage issues in the region of SEE, common problems, best practices, and providing an in-depth overview and comparative research on cultural policies, instruments, debates, cultural trends, current threats and opportunities in heritage conservation in the Southeast Europe.
Within the co-production phase of the project all the TV Stations participating produced 42 stories on the various themes of the cultural heritage in the SEE region, like the preservation of the traditional customs and festivities, music, cuisine and old crafts, development of tourism at the cultural heritage sites, protection and restoration of the old decayed buildings of the high architectural value, etc.

Promotional event of the documentary “Cultural Heritage in the Southeast Europe” and the end of the project for the representatives and guests from MKRTV – Macedonian Radio Television and RTK – Radio Television of Kosovo as the ERNO partners and ERNO members PSB, European Commission, EBU, UNESCO, representatives from the BiH Federal Ministry of Culture and Sport, representatives of the Institute for the protection of the cultural heritage in the Sarajevo Canton, cultural attachés in BiH from the regional countries, and other media and culture guests in the SEE region, distinguished guests and many other interested viewers was held in Sarajevo on March 9, 2010.
